2026 Season
Gerties Hours of Operation
7:00pm to 2:00am daily
fIREWEED ENTERTAINMENT WILL BE PERFORMING 405 SHOWS OVER 135 NIGHTS, with shows running 7 days a week between may. 8th - September. 19th.
show one - 8:30 pm spring
Guests become 1898 miners, adventurer seekers, and merry makers .
The evening opens with a brief but entertaining voiceover from local yukoner Chere wilson explaining how the town is just now coming out of a dark winter.
The show begins with a warm welcome to the audience - and to the sun - from Gertie, her band and the gold rush girls.
Show ONE will feature a traditional audience participation number where guests of all genders will be invited to learn a simple Can Can dance. It also features a three-song sing-along, involving plenty of audience interaction, both scripted and improvised by Gertie.
From the beginning of the evening, there will be no doubt that Gertie and her Gold Rush Girls are back in true form – strong, powerful women in command and always in the forefront.
show TWO - 10:00 pm sUMMER
A luxe, high-energy show with a colour palate of rich reds and plums, rusts, and gold accents TO HIGHLIGHT THAT SUMMER SOLSTICE IS IN FULL SWING.
Still very much a turn of the century show, the lighting reflects the bright summer midnight sun. New stained-glass panels by Dawson artists refresh the set in addition to more flora indigenous to the Yukon.
In an ode to the popularity of Vaudeville in the 1800’s, this show will feature a comedic dance number AND THE INTRODUCTION OF ANOTHER LEAD SINGER.
Maximilian Somer is a charismatic young man seeming to be seeking his fortune in the Klondike. Like many in Dawson City, Max appears as part of the audience before being brought on stage by Gertie.
His real identity and purpose for being in Dawson remain unclear however, until he reveals them through a musical confession to some nefarious behaviour.
show TWO - MIDNIGHT WINTER
The most modern of the three shows, our midnight will be a Dawson winter house party, amping up the energy with popular songs, powerhouse vocals, and innovative dance numbers.
A rock ‘n’ roll extravaganza with Northern flair.
The set features birch trees, a new starry sky LED backdrop, and simulated Aurora Borealis. Lighting is at times at its darkest, allowing for glow and costumes/props to “pop”.
Gertie’s IS the place to be at midnight in Dawson, whether you live here OR you’re visiting.
